Back in the Saddle Again.....

Wow! I haven't been on here in forever and then some. I don't actually have time to post much, but thought I would get back in the habit of jotting something down.

Today DH and I went to a funeral for one of his friend's sons. It was sad and inspiring at the same time. This 15 year old had battled cancer since right after birth and was as awesome as they come. It makes you think about what is really important in life. I wanted to scream at a couple of teens playing on their cell phones. "Hey kids, this is it. Can't you put that aside?" But I didn't.

The kids have been, well the kids. It's the same as always as well as different. I guess it's just life. S is going through a particularly rough patch right now. Eventually it will smooth out though.

I have a new job at church. It's not one I really expected to have and now I need to figure out how to do it to the best of my ability. Sunday was full of meetings and although I was tired by the end of the night I thought, "Dang, this was the biggest break I have had from everyday life in a really long time!" I hope to be adequate at it.

DH has turned into hunter man. I think we have some duck in our fridge that is getting too old to eat. T wants to hunt now too. I don't know if I am ready for that. I'm glad DH has found another thing he enjoys. I like him to be able to get away from everything.

Nutcracker is over. I had more fun than I care to admit. I forgot how fun it is to be on stage. But being a mom and being dedicated to something like that is tricky. Luckily, DH could pick up some of the slack and I could get babysitters for the rest. But it's over and that's a good thing.

So there you have it. I have finished a post. It wasn't really any good. It is, however, a start. :)
