Things Learned From a Fieldtrip

1. A school bus that has a 78 person capacity can't really hold that many people.
2. School buses can totally pass semis on the freeway and if you look outside too long while they do that you start to feel sick.
3. If you have 2 4th grade classes on one bus, one kid will get sick and end up throwing up in a bag.
4. 4th grade girls and boys still pretend they don't like each other.
5. The weather an hour away can be much colder than at home.
6. Your 4th grader will ditch you on the bus for friends.
7. 4th graders really like to get others attention even if it means trying to start a YMCA song during lunch.
8. Dads really can handle the home front while the mom is gone.
9. Kids will tell you almost anything.
10. Once in a while, M will still let me snuggle up to her in public.
